DESCRIPTION:SSgt Richard Owens\, 87\nU.S. Air Force (Ret) / Korea / Vietnam\nSarasota\, FL.\nSaturday\, August 13\, 2016\n\n\nThe family of SSgt Richard Owens has graciously requested the Patriot Guard Riders’ presence as they show their final respects for their loved one. \nSSgt Owens served our Grateful Nation in the U.S. Air Force for 20+ years and served tours in Korea\, two tours in Vietnam and two tours in Japan. \nUpon completion of his military service\, SSgt Owens received an Honorable Discharge and was awarded a Purple Heart\, Korean Service Medal\, United Nations Service Medal\, Good Conduct Medal (3rd award)\, Korean Presidential Unit Citation\, Presidential Unit Citation\, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal\, Small Arms Expert Medal and the Air Force Longevity Service Award w/ four Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters. \nSSgt Owens was a member of the Air Force Sergeants of America and a member of the Church of the Nativity in Sarasota\, FL. \nThe U.S. Air Force will be providing Military Honors for our Hero.  A graveside service will be held at the Albert G. Horton\, Fr.
