The Family of SSG Bouie Yuk Thorpe, US Army requests the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders to Honor this Hero on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at his Service and Committal.

SSG Thorpe served his country honorably for almost 20 years when he was medically retired. During his service he was awarded the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Meritorious Service Award, the Joint Service Commendation, the Army Commendation Award (5th Award), the Army Achievement Award, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Korea Defense Medal, the NCO Award, the Army Service Ribbon and the Overseas Service Ribbon.

The Service will be conducted at Marion Graham Mortuary, 1504 Gandy Street, Jacksonville, 32208 at 1100 (11:00 AM) where we will set a Flag Line. Following the service (at approximately 1230 [12:30 PM]) we will escort (LEO escort provided) SSG Thorpe to the Jacksonville National Cemetery for his 1330 (1:30 PM) Committal.

Bouie served this country proudly and faithfully. It is now our turn to render honors and provide a heartfelt thanks for his service and sacrifice to our country.

For PGR Members who do not wish to perform the Flag Line / Escort at Marion Graham Mortuary, you may stage directly at Jacksonville National Cemetery Lane 2 at 1315 (1:15 PM). PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE AT JNC PRIOR TO 1310 (1:10 pm).

Please bring your 3X5 hand held flags to honor this Hero.

Please ensure you prepare by staying hydrated. Temperature expected in the upper 80’s.
