HOTH Mission
Snowball Express
Pensacola, Florida – 12-07-19

American Airlines and the organizers of the Snowball Express have requested that the Patriot Guard stand in honor with the dependent children of former service personnel for their departure from Pensacola, FL, on the Snowball Express. This year, American Airlines will transport these children and parents to Disney in Orlando, FL, for the Snow Ball Express event sponsored by the Gary Sinise Foundation. We will stand a Flag Line at the USO on the second floor of the Pensacola Airport. Expect several other agencies/military groups/media to also be there to see these children off. The families are being advised to check-in at 4 AM and proceed to the gate on their flight departing at 6:02 AM. There will be a short ceremony before the children go to their departure gate (gate TBD). The Patriot Guard will stand for the ceremony and depart after the children go to their gate. There will be 11 children and 9 adults departing Pensacola this year on the Snowball Express. These are the children of our Fallen Military Heroes who paid the ultimate price while on active duty on or after September 11, 2001. They are between the ages of 5 years and 18 years of age. Remember, each of these children had a parent that paid the ultimate sacrifice for us. We need as many of our riders as possible there to show our support for these children. Uniform of the day will Santa/Elf attire. Wear your Santa hats, Christmas Shirts/Blouses, PGR red shirts, etc.

The Snowball Express is a special event every year at this time to honor the families and especially the children of our fallen warriors since 9/11 by giving them a trip to Dallas TX where they will attend a Rodeo, 6 Flags, concerts and other events provided by American corporations. We will go to the USO at Terminal 1 to chat with the kids then escort them to the American check in and stand a flag line as the kids pass thru.. Last year every flag patriot got a hug from each of these wonderful children. All attending are ask to bring a inexpensive generic toy or book to occupy the children’s time on the flight and wear your Santa hats and Christmas clothes. It is hoped the timing will be such that those desiring can also attend the SFC Ryckman escort in Chesterfield following the sendoff.
