Shelton Barstow Hoffman, 94, Korean War Veteran, CPL (US Army Air Corps – 1943-1945); SFC (US Army – 1950-1952) –- Mayer, AZ & Phoenix, AZ – 17 June 2016

Shelton Hoffman recently passed away at the age of 94. Shelton was a radio mechanic in the US Army Air Corps from 1943-1945, when he was discharged as a corporal; he then served our country again in the US Army in 1950, during which time he served in Korea. Shelton was discharged as a Sergeant First Class in 1952. After his discharge, Shelton went on to receive his Master’s Degree, and became a school teacher.

Shelton is survived by two daughters, two sons, 21 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Shelton will be held at 10 AM on June 17, 2016 at the Mayer Community Church, 10001 S. 5th St., Mayer.
The PGR has been invited to attend a BBQ luncheon at the Church with Shelton’s friends and family after the service, and then to escort Shelton to the Phoenix National Cemetery for services at National at 1400 hours.

Directions –

<> From Prescott – South on SR 69 {towards I-17}; right on Central Ave. (@ the Circle K). Go about 6/10 of a mile, then LEFT on Oak St. First RIGHT onto Main St. Go about 2/10 of a mile – 5th Street (and the Church) will be on your left; parking lot is on your right (on Main Street – directly across from 5th Street turn-off) after the YCSO Substation and Mayer School building.

<> From Phoenix – I-17 north to Exit 262 (Cordes Junction; Prescott); north on SR 69 {towards I-17} for about 8.2 miles; left on Central Ave. (@ the Circle K). Go about 6/10 of a mile, then LEFT on Oak St. First RIGHT onto Main St. Go about 2/10 of a mile – 5th Street (and the Church) will be on your left; parking lot is on your right (on Main Street – directly across from 5th Street turn-off) after the YCSO Substation and Mayer School building.

BRIEFING: 0930 hours

FLAG LINE: 0940 hours

The Flag line will stay up until military honors are given by American Legion Post 6 Honor Guard.

At the end of the service, PGR is invited to attend a BBQ luncheon at the Church with Shelton’s friends and family.
