Shane Totty, KIA

Baton Rouge, Louisiana – 02-06-19

ABOUT THE MISSION:

Officer Shane Totty, age 31, BRPD, Motor Division, lost his life on Feb. 01, 2019, while escorting a funeral procession when he was struck by a motorist cutting through the procession. Off. Totty was a motorcycle enthusiast and had requested that duty upon returning to duty after recovering from a gunshot wound he received approximately 12 months prior. His family has requested the PGR honor their hero.

Visitation begins at 5:30.
PGR will erect flags around property and “stand by” until conclusion of visitation at 9:00 pm.

Flags will be provided
Large Bike Flags will NOT be needed.
Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.

Special Instructions:

PGR will erect flags prior to start of visitation.
Visitation will last until service starts at 11:00 am.
6-12 PGR members will remain at church to render honors as Off. Totty is moved to a hearse. Majority of PGR will proceed directly to Greenoaks Cemetery to erect flags and render honors as the procession enters the cemetery. The 6-12 PGR members who remained at the church will join the procession wherever they are able to proceed to the cemetery. Procession for LEO fallen in line of duty will be quite large.

    Angie and I offer our deepest, and most heartfelt condolences to the Family and Friends of this true American Hero. It’s with great sorrow we say goodbye to all our great Heroes. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of those who stood and fought for our country. Be proud and strong in their beliefs.
