SGT. SAMUEL “KIP” HINES, UNITED STATES ARMY, VIETNAM VETERAN, JACKSONVILLE BEACH, FL, MONDAY, MAY 18, 2015
The family of Sgt. Kip Hines, has graciously invited the Patriot Guard Riders to stand in silent Respect and Honor at his services and committal, to be held Monday, May 18, 2015.
Kip enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1966 and was an armor driver and tank commander. He was serving in Vietnam with the 11th Armored Brigade at Xuan Loc, Vietnam during the “TET” offensive. He was Honorably discharged in 1969. Among his awards are the Vietnam Service Medal with two Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Medal and Sharpshooter Badge for M-14.
It is now our turn to render honors and a heartfelt thanks for his service and sacrifice to our country.
Staging will take place at the Quinn Schalz Funeral Home, 3600 3rd St. South, Jacksonville Beach, FL.
This will be a flag line for the service at the funeral home followed by an escort ride to Jacksonville National Cemetery for interment at 1:30 PM. If unable to make this escort but can attend the interment, meet at JNC by 1:00 PM. Flag bikes are encouraged but remember this may be a ride down I-295, so highway speeds are expected. All flag bikes to be inspected by the ride captain to ensure road worthiness.
Please bring your 3X5 hand held flags to honor this Hero.
