Ryan Hendrix, Veteran
Hendersonville, NC – 09-13-20
ABOUT THE MISSION:
A Henderson County Sheriff’s Office deputy, Marine Corps vet and father of two died Thursday afternoon while responding to a a breaking and entering call early in the morning, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Hendrix, 35, who had been with the Sheriff’s Office since 2012 and was also a member of the SWAT Team, was a Marine veteran and the father of a 9-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son. He was set to be married in October. Early Thursday morning while the world slept, Ryan responded to assist a family needing help when they became innocent victims of a violent encounter. We all know the tragic outcome, but Ryan refuses to let the story end there,” the release says. Even in passing Ryan continues to exemplify a servant’s heart. You see, Ryan was also an organ donor. He will continue to help strangers for a lifetime, even after making the ultimate sacrifice. Ryan’s family wants everyone to know that Ryan was doing the job he was born to do and he died doing the job he loved.” A memorial service will be held at the Henderson County Sheriff’s office on Sunday 9/13/2020 at 6pm. This is a memorial service only. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date. News Link
