Run for the Fallen – Honor and Remember SC

The Director of Honor and Remember of South Carolina has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to send off and to welcome the runners for RUN FOR THE FALLEN. They will run 122 miles in three days to Columbia to publicly recognize and honor every South Carolina fallen military service member who has died while serving or as a result of serving during the Global War on Terror. They will depart on Friday, 1 November and end at the State House on Sunday, 3 November.This is a two part mission on multiple days.

Brief at 5:45 AM. This is a flag line only. The event start time is 6:00 AM and the ceremony starts at 6:15 AM. The run will start at 7:00 am. Sunrise is at 7:38 AM that morning, so we will be in the dark. Plan accordingly.

Special Instructions:

Briefing: 12:30 PM
On the east side of the SC State House near the intersection of Senate and Sumter Streets. Park in public parking along the street. On Sundays, you are not required to feed the parking meters.
For the ending of the Memorial Trail for the SC Run for the Fallen, we will form a flag line at the end of the route to stand in honor of the fallen at the last marker in front of the state house. Afterwards, we will form a backdrop for the ending ceremony. After the ceremony we will stand down and depart.
CEREMONY: 1:20 pm.
