Honor Mission
Ruby Jewel “RJ” Terry, Veteran
Dallas, Texas – 07-01-20

R.J. Terry was born in Avinger, Texas and attended grade school in the area, graduating from Duncan High School in 1953. After attending Wylie College in Marshall, he relocated to Dallas and spent the next 43 years, with the exception of two years of military service, employed by Wyatt Foods which was later purchased by Kroger.
A long-standing member of his community and good neighbor, he believed in his neighborhood’s potential and wanted to contribute to positive changes. He was a good listener, who offered his wisdom when asked. His best advice, that he lived throughout his life was “you can’t argue by yourself.”

He was a passionate fan of the Cowboys, Mavericks, Rangers, early 80’s SMU football, and local high school sports. He fondly remembered his 50th wedding anniversary as the night the Rangers won their first pennant.

Whether it was in local lakes, the Gulf for redfish, striped bass in the Atlantic, or salmon and halibut in Alaska, R.J. loved to fish!
