DESCRIPTION:Roy Wayne Wilson\, 66\, of Knoxville\, passed away July 16\, 2016. His family has asked the Patriot Guard Riders to help them pay tribute to their hero and it will be our honor to do so. \nRoy served our country in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 – 1973. After his return home\, he joined the Knoxville Fire Dept as a Firefighter\, where he served his community for 25 years. Roy earned the Silver Star and the Award of Excellence; was twice named Firefighter of the Year; was instrumental in establishing and serving on the KFD’s inaugural Hazardous Materials Team; worked on a joint task force with the Knoxville Police Department; and was a Fire Boat Safety Officer. \nVisitation: Friday\, August 19\, 2016 9:30 – 11:30 am\nBerry Funeral Home 3704 Chapman Highway Knoxville\, TN \nStage at the funeral home at 9:00 am\n\nService takes place at 11:30\n\nEscort:\nEast TN State Veteran’s Cemetery 2200 East John Sevier Hwy\, Knoxville\, TN\n\nGraveside service: 1:30 pm with full military honors. \nRCIC: Ken Roberts 865-296-4027
