ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family of Mr. Roy Lee Chastain, Jr. has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor his memory and service to our Country by standing a Flag Line at his memorial service and again at his interment service that will follow next week at DFW National Cemetery. Roy Lee Chastain, Jr. served aboard the USS Forrestal during Vietnam as an aircraft engine mechanic. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.

Following the brief, we will establish the Flag Line and “stand tall and silent” as family and friends arrive. As the service begins, we will return the flags to the support vehicle, have a short debrief and be dismissed to reconvene at DFW National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 16th.

Riders will stage at the DFW National Cemetery Visitor’s Center for a short mission brief. Honor Bikes will be selected, and they will move to the appropriate staging lane and prepare for the procession to the committal shelter. The remaining riders will move to the designated committal shelter, set the flags and establish the Flag Line to await the arrival of PO3 Chastain, family and friends. When directed, riders will return the flags to the storage area, have a short debriefing and be dismissed
