A light went out on Earth for me
    The day we said goodbye
And on that day a star was born,
    The brightest in the sky
    Reaching through the darkness
With its rays of purest white
    Lighting up the Heavens
As it once lit up my life
With beams of love to heal
The broken heart you left behind
    Where always in my memory
    Your lovely star will shine

I did not know this man but I do know what it is like to lose a parent, a friend, and a loved one. My heart reaches out to you at this time of loss and grief. You have probably heard that time will heal your grief and it will to some degree, but it is the love we share for each other than brings the smiles and warm memories. Cherish those memories and the love.
