I am the daughter of Rodger D. Dewey, I had no idea what or who the Patriot Guard Riders were. But Oh I do now. Bless all of you. Dad had been sick since early November and back an forth in the hospital. I knew his body was getting tired, but each time it was harder for him to come back. He went in 5/19/19, and on Tuesday night 5/21/19, I came to realize that I could not do anything anymore, and it was up to him to decide. God that was a hard decision. The Coast Guard was good to him and his family, and my sister and I are forever grateful. With losing mom on 4/15/15, it was hard for dad, he told me once, it was wrong as he depended on mom all those years, (she was the E-10 to his E-9), he said he was to go first, broke my heart. But he did pull through and met a wonderful lady at Heisinger, she was a blessing. He would call and say he was taking her to dinner, to McDonalds for a fish sandwich, as that was her favorite. God love him. I miss my phone calls in morning from him. You represented him well. I can not say Thank you enough. The service was beautiful, they did a beautiful job, showing dad and mom’s life. Okay, I am crying now, I know it takes a while. God Bless and Semper Paratus. From a Coastie’s kid, Lorrie Freeman
