Honor Mission
Robert Randal Van Meter, Veteran
USMC – Vietnam

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the Pillips family to honor father and friend Robert Randal Van Meter, Lance Corporal, USMC (Veteran) who served his country honorable and proudly during the Vietnam War.
Lance Corporal Van Meter enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1966 and went to Boot Camp at Paris Island, South Carolina. Shortly after basic training he ended up on the USS Ticonderoga (CV/CVA/CVS 14) heading to Vietnam. He was Honorably Discharged in 1970.
Van Meter was born on 30 January 1948, in West Virginia but was raised in Elyria, OH. He is survived by his daughter Lillie and son James.
