Mission Complete: June 29 2019, COL (Ret) Robert Nolan Chase, USA / OKNG, Warwick / Carney, OK.
On this muggy Saturday morning 16 Patriot Guard Riders on 14 bikes attended the mission to Honor the Military Service of US Army / OKNG (Ret) Colonel Robert Nolan Chase at the Successful World Church Warwick, OK.
The area surrounding the church was staked, as we awaited the arrival of family and friends.
The briefing was read followed by a moment of silence for the Blue, Silver & Gold Star families, POWs and MIAs. A prayer asking comfort for the grieving family, a safe mission, and protection for our military personnel engaged in the Global War on Terror was also said.
The PGR stood the Flag Line with the Army Flag and American Flags staked in front of the entry door. The entrance was manned by PGR as family and friends arrived for the service. When the service started, PGR members returned the flags to the flag vehicle.
When the service concluded PGR members formed a Respect Line as the Hero was moved from the church to the coach. With the assistance of the Wellston Police Dept. helping accompany the Hero and family and PGR on to the way to Carney Cemetery, Carney OK.
Upon arrival at the cemetery the Riders formed another Respect Line as the Hero was moved from the coach to the Committal Shelter. The Military Honor Guard rendered a 3 round volley, played Taps, then folded the flag and presented it to the spouse.
The RCIC thanked the family for allowing us to celebrate the life of their Hero, then The PGR Plaque was read as well as the PGR Invocation and presented to the wife of our Hero. The minister said a few words then gave his prayer.
Thank you to my fellow PGR members that took time on this summer day to honor our hero. The family and friends were very appreciative of the PGR presence and thanked us for being there.
Above all, thank you Colonel Robert Nolan Chase for your service to this great nation. Rest in Peace Sir, your mission is accomplished, and you will never be forgotten.
Respectfully,
RCIC: Jeff “Poppa Bear” Huff
