Honor Mission
CSM Robert M. Montgomery, Retired
Kawkawlin, Michigan – 07-02-20


The Family of CSM Robert M. Montgomery has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to stand a silent flag line in honor of his service to our country. CSM Montgomery served in the United States Army and the National Guard enlisting in 1991. CSM Montgomery served in many leadership rolls until his retirement in 2016. Robert was awarded the Global War on Terroism Service Medal, Korea Service Defense Medal, Overseas Service Medal, Armed Foreces Expedionary Medal, Legion of Merit/Meritorius Service Medal with many additional awards and commendations over his 25 years of service. CSM Montgomery was on duty at the Pentagon on 9/11, playing a major roll at that site on that fateful day. Robert was most proud of supporting and assisting those soldiers returning from overseas and all those who served in the National Guard, Reserves and contract rolls associated with the service.
CSM Montgomery is survived by his wife, (Army Retired), one son, and many extended family. Please join us to stand our flag line in honor of CSM Montgomery’s service and to support his family in this time of grief.

Flag line: 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM (time of service).
The Family has requested an escort to the cemetery following the service. Please see the Ride Captain at the briefing if you are participating in the escort. The route is approximately 17 miles on state roads. Please ensure you and your bike accessories can withstand moderate speeds. Please plan for warm weather and appropriate health protocol for the virus. The funeral home requires masks and limited access inside.
