Robert Louis Teele, 70
USAF Vietnam Veteran
Mission Viejo, Newport Beach, CA
25 Aug 16

The family of Robert Louis Teele has invited the Patriot Guard to stand honors for this American Hero. It will be our distinct privilege to do so.

Robert was born in North Hollywood, CA in 1946. He grew up with 2 older brothers. Robert loved to swim with his 2 brothers and his Dad. Swimming became a passion at a young age. Robert swam every day in the backyard pool growing up. Robert worked at his Dad’s office supply store at a young age and was a natural at sales. He went to UCLA where he swam competitively and was on the water polo team. Robert graduated from UCLA with the Class of 1969.

From UCLA Robert joined the Air Force where he went to flight school at Lackland Air Force Base in TX. From there, Robert joined the elite set of pilots that were headed to Vietnam. He was promoted to Captain and became the pilot of the C-130.

After returning Robert worked for his Dad’s company and then joined a corporation and stayed in the office supply industry.

Robert’s hobbies were working out, playing golf, martial arts and skiing. He joined the ski club for many years. Robert got married and raised 2 girls through high school and divorced. He later remarried and moved to Mission Viejo with his wife and her two children. Robert retired soon after and played a lot of golf, did a lot of swimming and worked out on a constant basis at an LA fitness center. Robert enjoyed being fit, having a golf host job at Tijeras Creek. He loved to dance with his wife of five years, going out on the ocean with her and friends, ski trips in the winter. He loved life and a great sweet man who loved to teach people.

Later it was discovered that Robert had cancer from his tongue to his larynx, the result of Agent Orange. Robert was a very courageous man!

This is a combat related death.
