DESCRIPTION:Honor Mission\nRobert Leo Jansen\, Retired\nUSAF\, Vietnam\nPortland\, Oregon – 07-09-19\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nLadies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders\, we have been invited to stand for Robert Leo Jansen\, age 76. Robert served in the US Air Force from 1 December 1966 to 30 November 1986 when he was Retired at the rank of Major (O4). He spent 8 years as a Strategic Bomber Pilot on B52s\, then 4 years as a B52 Bomber/Tanker Pilot and then his last 7 years as a Mobility & Logistics Planning Officer. He was most proud of the 224 B52 Missions he flew in Vietnam. During his 20 years of Service he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross\, the Air Medal w/ 10 oak leaf clusters\, the Air Force Commendation Medal w/ 2 oak leaf clusters\, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award\, the National Defense Service Award\, the Vietnam Service Medal w/ 1 bronze service star\, the Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon\, the Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon\, the Air Force Longevity Service Award w/ 3 oak leaf clusters\, the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
