Honor Mission
Robert Lee Merriman, Veteran
United States Army – WWII
Pensacola, Florida  10-15-21


The Patriot Guard Riders will escort and stand in honor of T/5 Merriman as he is laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery.  T/5 Merriman was born 18 May 1927 and passed from this earth on 10 July 2021 and was 94 years old at the time of his passing. T/5 Merriman proudly served our country from 29 Aug 1945 thru 19 Dec 1946, 9 months of his service was on foreign soil during WWII. He was assigned to the 52nd Signal Battalion/Sig C. His decorations include the WW II Victory Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal.
9:45 AM – Staging

10:30 AM – KSU Faith Chapel South
11:00 AM – KSU to Barrancas National Cemetery
11:30 AM – Honors Site “B”

Special Instructions:

 NAS Pensacola requires long pants, long sleeved shirts, long fingered gloves, DOT Approved helmets, leather footwear covering the ankles and appropriate eye protection be worn during at all times while on board NAS Pensacola.
Due to recent outbreaks of COVID-19, partial or non-vaccinated members are required to wear face coverings while outdoors and all members are required to wear a mask while indoors at funeral homes, chapels, and all government buildings. Also maintain a 6-foot social distance both indoors and outdoors.
Flags & Water:
Flags will be provided
If you have large bike flags, please bring them.
Water will be provided.

    It is my honor and privilege to stand with families of and for those who dared stand where many feared to tread. Your loss is immeasurable but it will mark again the strength and fortitude of the families who raised and supported our heroes, our disciplined, our courageous, among whom you are included and so often overlooked, even abandoned.
    Thank you for your fortitude and sacrifices. We are thusly forever bonded.
