DESCRIPTION:Honor Mission\nRobert La Rosa\, Retired\, PGR\nUSAF – Vietnam\nAlamogordo\, New Mexico – 05-30-19\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nSeventy-Nine year old Robert La Rosa served his country and community outstandingly an the US Air Force for 22 years followed by a career as a LEO with the Alamogordo\, New Mexico Police Department. Bob was also the Chaplain for Alamogordo American Legion Post 34 and the 5th District of the Department of New Mexico. He was an active PGR member. As for community service\, he was a member of the local Mustang Club. Bob succumbed to complications of cancer surgery on 26 May 2019.Of Bob’s 22 years of Military Service\, 10 were overseas with significant time in Vietnam. He was an Air Force Crew Member during his Vietnam service. Bob retired on 31 July 1980 as a MSGT (E7) Aircraft Armament Systems Superintendent. His awards/decorations include Distinguished Flying Cross with 1 oak leaf cluster\, Air Medal with 1 silver oak leaf cluster and 2 bronze oak leaf clusters\, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 1 silver oak leaf cluster\, Small Arms Marksmanship Ribbon\, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon\, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with 4 oak leaf clusters\, National Defense Service Medal\, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 bronze service stars\, Air Force Presidential Unit Citation\, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 4 oak leaf clusters\, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with palm\, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.\n\n\nPRIMARY STAGING DETAILS: 05-30-19 \nStaging Time: 4:00 pm  \nWal-Mart Super Center Parking Lot\n233 South New York Avenue(cross street 1st street)\nAlamogordo\, New Mexico 88310\n\n\nRide Captain: \nJim “Deacon Jim” Ernst\njimernst@q.com\n(575) 430-3904\n\n\nSpecial Instructions: \nWe will stand a flag line on Thursday evening\, 30 May 19 during his viewing. Upon arrival we will stand a flag line during the viewing (approximately two hours).
