Robert Kenneth Bodnar enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1965. He served as a Marine Security Guard at the US Embassy in Bogota, Columbia during the Vietnam Era. He completed his tour with the rank of Sergeant in 1970. During his service he received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. After leaving the service he went on to teach physical education and coach wrestling for the Pasco School District for nearly 40 years.
