ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family of Robert J. Grismer, Jr. (76) graciously requested the Patriot Guard Riders presence for a flag line and escort to final resting place as they pay their last respects to their hero. Robert was a decorated U. S. Navy Vietnam War Veteran who proudly served his country as an Aviation Mechanic (AD) for 21 years and retired as an Aviation Maintenance Master Chief (AFCM). His personal awards include: Good Conduct Medal (5), Navy Commendation Medal, Republic of Vietnam Merit Unit Citation (Gallantry Cross Medal Color with Palm), Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (Civil Actions Medal First Class Color with Palm), U. S. Air Force Outstanding Air Transport Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Cuba), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal (Device 60), and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal.
