ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family of Robert Jackson Gresham, 93, requests the Patriot Guard to stand a tall and silent flag line honoring their loved one and Hero.
Bob proudly served in the United States Navy, 1944 – 1949. He achieved the rank of Petty Officer 3rd class and served as a Quarter Master 3rd class. He served on the USS Essex and seven other ships. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, American Theater ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Philippine Liberation Medal with 2 stars and Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal with 7 stars.
He is well loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

I want to thank the Patriot Guard Riders for escorting my father to Jefferson Barracks.
I didn’t get a chance the day of the funeral.
I’ve seen many of the condolances’ on this site , and most of them refer to Dad as a Hero.
To me and my sister he was exactly that, a Hero, OUR HERO .
He never really talked about his time in WW II
I guess that’s because to him, once it was over, it was over !
He never had any animosity towards the Japanese people or their country.
As a matter of fact, in 1969, we were the first family in our neighborhood to own a Toyota.
My Dad instilled in me Honor, Humility and to stand up for what you think is right.
The Patriot Guard is much like my Dad in the fact that you had a job to do and don’t crave recognition.
But on behalf of me and my family I wholeheartedly thank you for your service to our country and the way you honored my Father, shepherding him to his final resting place.
