ABOUT THE MISSION:
From his Obituary; Robert Grottolo’s ship sailed peacefully into the dawn on May 17, 2016. Bob was born in 1924 in New York City. After working at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome NY as an aircraft engine mechanic, he served during World War II as a Gunner’s mate in the United States Navy, on the USS Brooklyn, a light cruiser. He participated in four invasions, North Africa, Italy, Sicily, and France. Bob had a 40-year career with Con Ed, retiring in 1986 from the Power Generation Maintenance division in the Bronx. He was a member of the Yorktown Elks Club for many years.
The Patriot Guard Riders will be privileged to be there to render Honor, Dignity and Respect for the life and service of Robert G. Grottolo.
