Robert Fred Earls, Veteran, PGR

The family of “Bob” Robert Fred Earls 73 after a successful RHG Tribute on April 24th has asked the Patriot Guard Riders to stand a Flag Line for this Veteran of the United States Navy, CIA and a Brother of the PGR. Bob spent nearly 9 years on Active Duty in the Navy and was contemplating continuing when the CIA began their recruitment. 22 years later, he retired in 2001 only to be called back as a CIA Contractor after 9-11. Roughly 3 years later he retired again. Bob served the Navy from June 1963 to August 1966 and then re-upped June 1972 to March 1978. Bob told me “don’ get bogged down in all that reserve crap. That was just a paper exercise” (nearly 3 years). Got it Bob. He received two Good Conduct Medals, the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He asked this RC to represent him this year on Run For The Wall. It will be done. Earls served on the USS Constellation (CVA-64). A proud Blue Water Vietnam Veteran. In 1974 he was transferred to the USS Manley (DD-940). During his CIA career the family traveled and lived in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, the Far East, Central America and Africa. Bob Earls was a gift to his community and to our Nation. Rest well Sailor. Your Watch is complete. Thank you for your service.

NOTE: The final two hundred yards to the residence is uphill and gravel. Bob wanted the sound of motorcycles at his memorial but safety first. We will talk about this at Staging and some will be able to choose alternate parking.
