Honor Mission

Robert F. Lanoue

USN – WWII, Korea

Schuylerville, New York – 06-14-18


The family of Mr. Robert F. Lanoue has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services.  Robert, 91, passed on Saturday, April 27, 2018.

Born in Cohoes, NY Bob joined the US Navy, serving during WWII at sea in the Pacific Theater under combat, and during the occupation of Japan. During his service, Bob earned the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class, with a rating of Boiler Technician (BT3).  He re-enlisted during the Korean War and remained in the Navy until his honorable discharge, when he returned to Cohoes, settling in Melrose, NY. Bob worked for many years at the Mohawk Paper Mills, afterward returning to the water as a merchant marine working on commercial tug boats and captaining barges on the canal system and coastal waters of New York.

  1. I extend my most heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Robert F. Lanoue, US Navy WWII and Korean War Veteran. During this most difficult time, I pray you peace. I will forever be grateful for his service, sacrifice, and dedication to our country. Rest easy now, Sir…those you have left behind to carry on without you have the watch.
