DESCRIPTION:Honor Mission\nRobert Emmett “Bob” Reindl\, Veteran\nUSN – WWII\nFlorence\, Oregon – 06-08-19\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nBob Reindl\, age 94\, served in the US Navy from 16 October 1942 to 15 October 1948. He was Honorably Discharged at the rate of Hospital Corpsman 1st Class (E6). He served on many ships including the USS General J.H. McRae (AP-149)\, USS Fredonia (PC 1174)\, the USS Shenandoah (AD-26)\, USS Consolation (AH-15). He accompanied troop ship to bring wounded soldiers back to San Francisco; then assigned to Atlantic fleet to pick up wounded soldiers to bring home to USA. During the attacks on Betio Island\, the Gilbert Islands\, and the Marianas Islands he went ashore as a Field Medic assigned to the 2nd Marine division. He earned the American Campaign Medal\, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal\, the European African Middle East Campaign Medal\, a Good Conduct Medal\, the Navy Occupation Service Medal w/ Japan clasp\, and the World War II Victory Medal.
