Robert Edwin Christian, Veteran, PGR

ABOUT THE MISSION:

Robert E. Christian Sr., 85, of DeSoto, Texas, passed away on May 7, 2020, after a valiant struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born to parents Harry and Bertha Christian, on April 16, 1935, in Dallas, Texas. Robert graduated from Crozier Tech, served in the United States Marine Corps, and pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering from Arlington State College. He had a long career with Texas Utilities as an overhead engineer, mentoring many junior engineers and always embracing new technology. He loved fishing and motorcycles. Following his retirement, Robert became a member of the Patriot Guard Riders; riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle on numerous missions to honor his fallen brothers and sisters in arms.

After the Mission Briefing, the Riders will establish the Flag Line.
The funeral home chapel will limit the first 28 members of the family and their guests. Should there be seats available, they will be offered to the Patriot Guard Riders.
The certificate of our appreciation will be presented to Bob’s wife Linda, who has also stood on Flag Lines with us.
Military honors will be provided by Bob’s granddaughter’s boyfriend, a USMC Reserve Gunnery Sergeant.
When directed, the Riders will return the flags to the support vehicle, be debriefed and dismissed.
This ends Part 1 of this Mission.

All Riders will park along Tejas Boulevard (the entrance road) or at the Public Information Center and walk across the street to Section 84.
Flags will be already set up, away from the gravesite, but within view of the family.
In accordance with VA requirements, all Riders are to maintain a minimum of six feet between each other.
Honors will be given as Bob is lowered into that hallowed ground.
The flags will then be returned to the support vehicle, a short prayer will be said for our brother and the Riders will be dismissed.
