ABOUT THE MISSION:
Robert D. Du Charme, age 90, passed away peacefully at his residence on March 30, 2019. He was born on April 1, 1928 to parents Thomas and Lona Du Charme in Iron Mountain, Michigan. Robert enlisted in the United States Coast Guard at age 17 and served as an officer’s cook aboard a troop transport ship during WWII.
