ABOUT THE MISSION:
Eighty-nine year old Robert Joseph Mendoza passed from this life on 16 February 2019. During his lifetime he served his country honorably in the US Navy for twenty years, retiring on 20 October 1967 at the rank of CPO (E7). He was a Vietnam Veteran serving five years, four and a half months in country. He received the Good Conduct Medal five times, National Defense Service Medal two times, and the Vietnam Service Medal with two stars during his service career. CPO Mendoza was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and an active member of the American Legion and Moose. The family of CPO Mendoza is requesting PGR and Marine Corps League (MCL) support during his memorial service at the Alamogordo Moose Lodge. Interment will be at the Veterans’ Memorial Park in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico at a later date.

KSU: 1:15 pm for the Moose Lodge.
A flag line will be established outside of the Moose Lodge, 29 South Florida Avenue, at 1:30. Just prior to the 2:00 start of the service we will move the line inside where the PGR will provide a flag line and folding/presentation of the US Flag and presentation of a condolence card with “Mission Complete” pin.
The MCL will provide a firing party to render a rifle salute and sound TAPS.
