AAR: Richard Elwood Swinney USA, Veteran, Claremore,OK
Mission Complete: PGR assembled early staked flags at the First Christian Church in Claremore, had a ride briefing, and greeted family of Richard Elwood Swinney USA, Vietnam Veteran. We then formed a procession accompanying the Hero to the Claremore Veterans Center, at 9:00AM we did a ride thru the VA, both sides of the drive and portico was lined with nurses and residents of the center, forming a respect line saying good bye to this Hero. We then returned to the Church for the 10:00AM service, doors were manned and when the service started flags were gathered and one PGR went to stake them at Lone Chapel Cemetery. A respect line formed as Hero was moved to the coach, Claremore PD and Rogers county Sheriff escorted to procession out of town, we were greeted by flags and US Army Honor team at the cemetery. Respect line formed as Hero was moved to his final resting place, minister offered a short response, the 2 person Army team moved to flag, PGR played TAPS, team folded and presented flag. PGR moved forward thanked family, read and presented plaque and invocation, then offered a final salute to Hero. Thanks to all that made this a successful mission, most of all thank you Richard Elwood Swinney USA, Vietnam Veteran for your service and sacrifice.
