Buckhannon, West Virginia – 05-16-21
ABOUT THE MISSION:
The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in silent honor and respect for Cpl Richard Adrian Eve, 73, for his Celebration of life on Sunday. Richard went to be with the Lord on Monday, 19 April 2021. Richard was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. During his enlistment, he received the Vietnam Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, and a Good Conduct Medal. In his later years, Mr. Eve was seldom seen without wearing some USMC insignia as he was extremely proud of his service. After service to his country, he moved his family to WV to attend West Virginia Wesleyan College where he attained a Business Degree. Mr. Eve also served the City of Buckhannon as a police officer and the Town of Gauley Bridge where he was the Chief of Police. Richard retired as a landman after several years being involved with the oil and gas industry in various Mid-Atlantic States. This will ONLY be an escort for the family and flag line for Celebration of Life. Won’t you join with us as we say “Thank You” and “God Speed” to another of our native sons who willingly gave of his time and effort to defend your freedom and liberties.

My sincere condolences to the family of this departed hero. All veterans no matter what the war have one thing in common, their country called and they answered that call. Because of their bravery we have the freedom we enjoy today.” Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal” Rest in peace with God and in your loved ones memories.

A light went out on Earth for me
The day we said goodbye
And on that day a star was born,
The brightest in the sky
Reaching through the darkness
With its rays of purest white
Lighting up the Heavens
As it once lit up my life
With beams of love to heal
The broken heart you left behind
Where always in my memory
Your lovely star will shine
