ABOUT THE MISSION:
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders, we have been requested to stand for Rex Lee Gunderson, age 60. Rex devoted nearly his entire life in uniform— serving in the US Air Force, Vancouver Police Department and the US Coast Guard. He retired from the Coast Guard at the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer (E-9). He was awarded the Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/Mobilization Device & 1 Hourglass Device, Bicentennial Unit Commendation, Coast Guard Achievement Medal, Meritorious Team Commendation w/1 Silver Star & 1 Gold Star, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Pistol Marksman Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation w/Hurricane Device, Rifle Expert Medal, Special Operations Service Ribbon w/1 Bronze Star, DOT Outstanding Unit Award, GWOT Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal w/1 Bronze Star, Marine Safety Insignia, National Defense Service Medal w/1 Bronze Star, Transportation 9-11 Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and US Air Force Basic Military Honor Graduate. Please join us as we help support his family, pay our respects, and honor his service to our nation.
