ABOUT THE MISSION:
This is the Association of crew members of the USS Mullinnix, DD-944.
The Mullinnix was a Forrest Sherman class destroyer that was commissioned in 1958, initially, home ported in Norfolk, VA and later in Charleston, SC where she was de-commissioned in 1983. The crew members have an annual reunion at various locations and this year it will be in Charleston.
Mullinnix was a 3 gun destroyer doing multiple tours in Vietnam on the gun lines as well as multiple tours in the Med and Middle East. She was also involved in the Cuban Blockade as well.
The crew was and is comprised of “plank” owners, (Crew members who were on the initial crew in 1958) They were Vietnam and Cold War Veterans and members of the De-Commissioning crew in 1983.

After the briefing, the PGR members will form a flag line in front of the hotel entrance, waiting on the arrival of the crew members at 12:30 P.M.
Once all members and families have entered the building, then the PGR members will return to their flags to the flag wagon.
The mission will then be complete.
Note: Parking for this event should be on the left side of the building, facing the entrance, next to Gap Road off Tanger Outlet Blvd.
