ABOUT THE MISSION:

Rene De Los Santos, of Myrtle Beach, passed away on 4/11/2020. He was born in Mission, Texas and served in the US Army from 1960-1963. He served with 82nd Airborne at Ft. Bragg NC. He rode with Patriot Guard Riders North Coastal and American Legion Riders, Post 178.

We will stand the flag line 10:00 AM-11:00 AM, during visitation, then stand down during the service. Once the service is completed, we will provide an escort to Florence National Cemetery with a stop at the Speedway gas station in Aynor SC at 12:30 PM for second staging of the mission. LEO escort has been requested, unsure of an escort as this time. Temperatures are going to be in the low 80’s please hydrate. Anyone who can not attend Stage 1 and would like to join in at Stage 2 to FNC, see Stage 2 information.

We will have KSU at 1:00 PM for a 2:00 PM arrival at Florence National Cemetery. Upon arrival we will travel through the entrance gate and continue to the exit gate. Tommy Jones will have flags staked down the road of the entrance to FNC, along with someone at the gate to render Honors. Only 10 bikes will be able to take the left to go graveside and that will be the last 10 in the escort. If you have a passenger, that will count as two Bikes. This is the guidelines given by FNC to abide by the rules and regulations set by CDC and the State of South Carolina Department of Veterans Affairs during COVID-19. Those that ride thru the cemetery will depart FNC. For those that want to wait for those that stand at the cemetery, we will meet them at the Wendy’s back at E Palmetto St, Florence SC to ride back together. Additional Special Instructions for PGR missions during the COVID-19 virus, we will abide by all rules and regulations set by the CDC and the State of South Carolina Department of Veterans’ Affairs. Each attendee is responsible to bring a personnel face-covering. It does not have to be an actual mask, any sort of covering will be sufficient, as we will be setting an example that “We are observing all CDC recommendations regarding COVID-19”. Wearing of the mask is optional but you need to have one if required. In keeping with the requirements of the State of South Carolina Department of Veterans’ Affairs, PGR members will maintain at least a six-foot distance between each other during the briefing and flag line. We are also instructed to be no closer than forty feet from the family funeral tent.
