Reginald Bernette Salisbury , POW/MIA

ABOUT THE MISSION:

Reginald Bernette Salisbury 95 was another veteran from that great generation. Mr. Reginald Salisbury enlisted in the US Army with rank of CPL and served as a scout for the Comanche Code Talker unit. CPL Reginald Salisbury was a survivor of Normandy and later was captured by the Germans in France. He was a POW in Germany for almost a year. His weight went from 167 lbs to 92 lbs during that period of time. CPL Salisbury was a loving husband of (71) years, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. After his service he went to work for the Charleston Naval Shipyard for (40) years. When CPL Salisbury finally retired he loved working with his hands in the garden for several years and started up the Lebanon Christmas Tree Farm which is still in his family today. He was known to his family as “Reggie”. CPL Salisbury was not only loved and respected by his family also by all of his friends to include his church.

Special Instructions:

Briefing: 4:15 pm
After the briefing a flag line will be in place for the family and friends to arrive for the visitation from 5-7 pm. After the visitation, the PGR will then return their flags to the flag wagon and return to their homes. NOTE: Special Instructions for PGR missions during the COVID-19 virus: we will abide by all rules and regulations set by the CDC and the State of South Carolina Department of Veterans’ Affairs. Each attendee is responsible to bring a personnel face-covering. It does not have to be an actual mask, any sort of covering will be sufficient. In keeping with the requirements, PGR members will maintain at least a six-foot distance between each other during the briefing and flag-line. We are also instructed to be no closer than forty feet from the family funeral tent.

Large Bike Flags will NOT be needed.
Water will be provided.

Special Instructions:

Briefing: 9:00 am.
After the briefing a flag line will be in place for family and friends for the memorial service from 9:00-10:30. The PGR will then stand down until the service is over, honors will be rendered as they place the veteran in the hearse. The PGR will then prepare for the escort with LEO to the cemetery for the veteran’s final resting place. NOTE: Special Instructions for PGR missions during the COVID-19 virus: we will abide by all rules and regulations set by the CDC and the State of South Carolina Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
