He proudly served our country in the United States Army\, starting December 26th\, 1968 and ending March 4th 1976. SP4 Thorpe served two tours in Vietnam. During his time in service SP4 Thorpe earned the National Defense Service Medal\, Vietnam Campaign Medal\, Vietnam Service Medal\, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm.
