DESCRIPTION:HOTH Mission\nPOW/MIA Watchfire Ceremony\nUSA USMC USN USAF USCG –\nSt Charles\, Missouri – 09-20-19\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nThe Saint Charles Veterans Commission has requested the Patriot Guard Riders stand a flag line during the annual ceremony at the Veterans Memorial to commemorate all active military\, veterans\, and all POW/MIA on Friday night. The event is known as a “Watch Fire\,” a long-standing tradition to build large fires to guide returning soldiers and militia back to their camp or village. The modern day watch fire is a symbolic event: a fire lit in hopes that all of America’s soldiers held as prisoners of war and those missing in action will find their way home. These symbolic fires are lit to provide hope to family members that the missing may yet be found and brought home.
