HOTH MISSION

Alabama POW/MIA Recognition Day 2013 Ride & Ceremony

Montgomery, AL

Saturday, September 21, 2013

The Rolling Thunder Chapters of Alabama have asked for support from the Patriot Guard Riders in the 2013 POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremonies, to be held on the grounds of the Alabama State Capitol. This will be a two part mission, beginning with a ride through downtown Montgomery from the Crampton Bowl to the State Capitol, followed by a ceremony at the Capitol, including comments from Korean War POW Newton J. Duke of Alabaster, AL, held in Camp 3, Ch’ang-Song on the Yalu River (border of North Korea and China) May 1951 to Aug 1953.

PGR will post flags (in advance) on the Washington street side of the Capitol as well as stand a flag line during the ceremony.

STAGING INFO:

10:00 – Staging in the parking lot of the Crampton Bowl, 1022 Madison Avenue, Montgomery, Alabama.

10:30 – KSU for ride to the State Capitol building

10:45 – Immediately after parking, please assemble in the center area of the Capitol loop (where the bikes will be parked) to get your flag for the Flag line.

Ride Captain:

Tommy Beeson

In addition to this being a mission that closely parallels our PGR role, members of Rolling Thunder have often supported PGR missions; this is our chance to support one of theirs.

Respectfully yours,

Tommy Beeson
