Police K-9 Officer NIKO
South Lyon, Michigan – 09-14-19
ABOUT THE MISSION:
The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in Honor of Police K-9 Officer Niko – PNDD (Patrol Narcotics Detection Dog.) K-9 Officer Niko – approx. 10 years of age, served 6 years with the Fowlerville (MI) Police Department. K-9 Niko, a Doberman Pinscher, was born in Hungary in 2009. K-9 Niko was trained and certified as a PNDD at K-9 Working Dogs International in Kansas. He began work as a police K-9 with Sergeant Jeff Soli on September 9, 2012. Over the next 6 years, K-9 Niko worked faithfully and diligently. He found several people, both bad and lost. He kept drugs out of Fowlerville schools and several surrounding schools by doing weekly sweeps. Even though some thought of him to be big and scary, he bridged the gap between children and the Police by visiting classrooms and being loved by the students. He was an extremely loyal partner, friend and family member. K-9 Niko was retired in late 2018 due to medical issues. In mid 2019, K-9 Niko succumbed to illness and passed away. Please come and stand for this Fallen K-9 Officer that gave his all to save others and Police Officers.
