DESCRIPTION:The Patriot Guard has been requested by the family of Frank A. Vollmer\, Jr.\, to provide a flag line prior to his funeral service\, and an escort to his final resting place\, in honor of his service to this Great Nation.  Frank served proudly with the US Navy for 20 years.  He attained the rank of Machinist Mate First Class\, E-6.  Frank enlisted in the Navy right out of high school in 1988 and retired in 2008.  Among his many awards and decorations are the following: Navy/Marine Achievement Medal (8 awards)\, Navy Good Conduct Medal (6 awards)\, Navy Expedition Medal\, National Defense Medal (2 awards)\, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal\, Humanitarian Service Medal\, Global War on Terrorism Medal\, Ballistic Missile Submarine Deterrent Pin\, and Expert in both rifle and pistol.  He was an avid motorcycle rider and loved the entire military experience.
