US Navy Retired
Vietnam Veteran
La Mesa, San Diego, CA
21 SEPT 16
The wife of Petty Officer First Class Edwin Leon Adams, 78, has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present to honor this hero for his service to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.
PO1 Adams was a veteran of the Vietnam War with three deployments. He served honorably for 24 years until his retirement at the rank of E6.
PO1 Adams suffered from many complications related to his exposure to Agent Orange and, sadly, this eventually led to his passing.
For his service he received the following: Navy Achievement Medal, Combat Action ribbon, Presidential Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Awards, Fifth Award for period ending Oct 16, 1978, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (Gallantry Cross Color) and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
In civilian life Edwin was a retired Commissary Worker at the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA.
He is survived by his wife, 1 son, 2 sisters, 1 brother, 5 step sons, 2 granddaughters and 2 great-grand daughters.
This will be a Combat Related Mission and there will be tags.
