ABOUT THE MISSION:
Pine Point Hospice has invited the PGR to attend an appreciation program for the Veterans they care for. This will be a brief mission starting at 10 am and lasting about 30 minutes. We will establish a static flag line outside. Our Briana Wilson will open with the National Anthem and close with God bless America. Light refreshments will be served at the closing. We will be there to show our veterans they are appreciated.
Comments from Pine Point Hospice; As a “We Honor Veterans” organization, we try very hard to let each patient who has served our country know how much we appreciate them. We ask the veteran status of each patient on admission. Then, if the veteran and family will allow, we present the patient with a pin at a bedside ceremony – usually with a past member of the military and family present. The rooms of veterans bedded in our inpatient facility are designated with a red, white, and blue ribbon on the door. We are currently working on a recognition board with the names of veterans we have cared for to be placed in the entry to our hospice house. (We are hoping this will be ready at the beginning of November).
In addition to the above, each year we have a larger, public ceremony recognizing our veterans – both those who work with us and the patients we have cared for. This year the recognition ceremony will take place Friday, Nov. 10th at 10:00am at our facility on Peake Road. We will have a speaker and light refreshments. We would be honored if you could attend and perhaps present colors or participate in some other way. Your dedication to all veterans is both admired and appreciated.
