ABOUT THE MISSION:
Phillip James Zermeno Sr. was a United States Army Veteran. He proudly served his country from 1975 to 1978. After 16 weeks of Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training he was an Infantryman. The Army says the infantry is the main land combat force and backbone of the Army. They are responsible for defending our country against any threat by land, as well as capturing, destroying and repelling enemy ground forces. He used these skills in Germany as part of Company A 1st Battalion 87th Infantry US Army Europe. Specialist E4 Zermeno was released from active duty and honorably discharged in December 1978. He earned the Good Conduct Medal, M-16 Rifle Expert Badge, and the Hand Grenade Expert Badge.
