The family of Philip Gordon, U.S. Army and Vietnam Veteran have requested we escort him from Penryn, CA to the Cemetery in Newcastle CA, on August 17, 2016 and stand a flag line in his honor during his inurnment ceremony at the cemetery.
The PGR are indeed honored to stand for the American Hero and very Patriotic American.
Philip served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968, during which time he spent a tour of duty in Vietnam. He trained at Ford Ord and then was sent to St Louis Missouri for USAR Control Group training. He was in the 109th QM CO. He then was deployed to Vietnam, and upon his return from Vietnam was advised to change into civilian clothes when he returned to the states as people were throwing eggs at them and spitting on them. A phenomenon many Vietnam Veterans endured if they traveled in uniform.
