ABOUT THE MISSION:

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to join several other veteran support groups to take part in honoring PFC James Roy Newberry an American Hero (Uncle one of our own PGR members) at the Bethel Baptist Church, where he and his family worshiped when he was a child.
Born June 15, 1931, James “Roy” Newberry, as a young man enlisted in the US Army and went to fight for our country during the Korean War. He served as part of the Company F, 2nd Battalion, 223rd Infantry Regiment, 40th Infantry Division. Engaging the enemy, Roy was shot and wounded. His unit pulled back and his body was not recovered. Date of loss: December 8, 1952.Through the unending efforts of friends and family, and recognition of the POW/MIA Mission by the Macon-Bibb County Commissioners Office, we will come together to dedicate with honor, the POW/MIA Interchange, and the Rising is the POW/MIA Flag. He is NOT Forgotten!
We (4 groups) will stage off-site and arrive by LEO escort, where-in we will park upon arrival each at a different corner of the intersection. We will form an honorable flag-line surrounding the intersection, then the 4 signs will be ceremoniously unveiled.

Special Instructions:

We will have safety briefing and organize the groups for escort and await notification to arrive at proper time of ceremony.
Assistance is needed assembling static flag line before mission, if you are available to assist at 8:45 am at Bethel Baptist Chuch 7495 Knoxville Rd. Lizella, Ga (less than 5 miles from staging location) please contact Bruce Tamker to confirm (478) 952-3400

If you have large bike flags, please bring them.
Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.

I will be meeting you after dropping off my wife Berta in her cage with Bruce an Celia Tamker. She wilf assistance them with the static flags. I will continue to your meeting location at the pre-determined staging area for the PGR’s part of the escort back to the Newberry Intersection. If ya have any questions or something, just call me when you get a chance. No hurry, we are honored to be doing our part Sir!!! ???PGR?????
