ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family of Dewey Wilbur Harris, 23, requests the Patriot Guard Riders to stand a tall and silent flag line for their loved one and hero.  PFC Harris, who proudly served in the United States Army during World War II, was killed in action on Tuesday, November 14, 1944 in the Huntgen Forest near Simonskall, Germany and buried in the Netherlands. He was recently identified and is being brought home for a proper burial.  Dewey served under Company C, 1st Battalion, 110 Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division.  It is an honor for the Patriot Guard to stand for this member of the “Greatest Generation” and to escort him to his final resting place in the hallowed grounds of Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

10:00 am Funeral Service, followed immediately by escort to Jefferson Barracks National Cemeteryfor an 11:30 am slot.  Forecast: Sunny and mid 80s.  Hydrate before and during the mission.  Cages are always welcome.

We thank you for the service of PFC Harris during World War II. It is because of heroes like him that we enjoy our freedoms today. He is truly one of the Greatest Americans. Sincere condolences and prayers for all of you. I hope that there is finally closure and peace for your family as he is returned to American soil and granted the full military honors that he so deserves.
