He served in the 1st Cavalry and was a Sgt when Discharged in 1946. He took part in many island battles in the Pacific. He and Frances had five children. He is survived by one son\, two daughters  along with many grandchildren\, great-grandchildren\, great-great-grandchildren\, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Frances and two sons.
