ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family of Col. Wilson, 94, has requested the Patriot Guard Riders presence as they show their final respects and lay their loved one to rest. Col Wilson faithfully served his country in the U.S. Marines/Reserves and performed duties as Ground Colonel. Col Wilson was a “Mustang ” (entered as an enlisted then promoted to an officer) Upon completion of his service, Col Wilson received an Honorable Discharge and during his time in service, awarded the Purple Heart w/1 Star, Presidential Unit Citation w/4 Stars, Navy Unit Citation w/1 star, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal WWII, National Defense Service Medal w/1 Star, Korean Service Medal w/2 Stars, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Service Medal w/3 Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal w/CBT “A”, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation of Gallantry Cross, Meritorious Unit Citation, Meritorious Service Medal w/1 Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal w/8 Stars, American Campaign Medal, Navy Occupation Medal, Monaco Commemorative Decoration, and the Combat Action Ribbon. Please bring your 3 X 5 American flags and stand in honor and respect for our hero and his family.
