During his lifetime Viggy served his country honorably in the US Army\, retiring on 31 Oct 76 at the rank of SFC (E7). One of the places he served was Korea as a Radar Equipment Repairman where he earned the following awards/decorations: National Defense Service Medal\, Good Conduct Medal (x3)\, Army Commendation Medal\, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea)\, and Basic Ma1 Qualification Badge. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
